    Gigabyte GV-NX88S512H-B

Since buying the older 8800 GTS (320/640 MB) didn't seem like a sane choice post November, Nvidia launched a new G92-based 8800 GTS. Check it out

Good build, Good performance, Silent operation.

Dual slot, Poor overclocker, Quite Expensive.

The card

On the outside, the Gigabyte GV-NX88S512H-B (8800 GTS) looks just like the G80-based 8800 GTS. It sports a dual-slot design, a hefty cooling assembly, and requires extra power to be supplied to the card.

At stock, the Gigabyte 8800 GTS 512 MB core is clocked at 700 MHz while the memory runs at 1000 MHz.

The card requires external power and sports 2 DVI-D ports along with an S-Video port at the back. It's packed with 512 MB of DDR3 memory and has a 256-bit memory interface.

Additional features include Nvidia's Quantum technology for physics computation using Shaders, the Lumenex Engine that helps deliver better image quality and floating point accuracy at high speed, GigaThread Technology, PureVideo HD technology, Shader Model 4.0 support, Intellisample 4.0, Dual Link DVI (capable of supporting resolution up to 2560x1600), and PCI Express 2.0 as well as OpenGL 2.0 support.

In the specs ,I think you should alsoinclude power consumption . It will ease users to decide what PSU and Case one should go for while buying such an expensive card . As obviously the one who buys high end cards irrespective of warranties couple , would like to house the card in better casing and with adequate power.

Now that GeForce 8800GTS (G92) are hitting $ 275 price point-( Rs. 11k in USA) this is hopelessly over priced. Better deal is MSI 512 GT overclocked- with 2 games for 13k.
