Tata sky plays games with their customers. They sold their setup box and installation at 3200 Rs. to me. They keep increasing their monthly subscription by making their customers pay for more popular channels/services. Eg: You have to pay 30 rs. extra every month for 9X, Bindhasst, NDTV good times. Later on they asked 300 rs. for Active education. This will go on and we would end up paying more than what other services providers/cablewalas charge in the industry. The only satisfaction is DVD Quality output.

TATA SKY is the best thing that happen to our entertainment and reception quality. We are very happy to pay what we used to pay our Cable Operator earlier for A Class service... Some people are being fooled by this MPEG2 vs. MPEG4 thing, mind you even the advanced LCD and Plasma TVs are not Full HD and MPEG 4 is a waste in the process! The TV that reliance plans to offer for free has a resolution that doesnot fully support full HD either.

Guys planning to go in for TataSky - Please evaluate their latest offering. Their offer about few months back was better. I've taken a TataSky connection in early Jan this year. Great quality, good infrastructure, picture-clarity, good service (well, so far!). No regrets. Previous offer: TataSky STB+Installation+6 months of their top-package free @Rs.4000/-. Doing the math: 3000+1000 and 350x6=2100 free. Hence effective cost of STB=4000-Installation-freebies=900 New offer: STB:1500, Installation:1000 and 1 month of max package free. Doing the math again: Effective cost of STB = 1500-freebies= 1150. Hence in effect, this new offer is actually a sugar-coated gimmick. Indeed, you might have to shell out less of initial investment (only Rs.2500/- in all) ! So, if you want to take a connection - take it. Dont just go because you think you "save" on this offer :-) (IMHO)

tata sky is worst as they have packages on regional basis .they have a starter pack of rs.200 which includes only south indian channels which is of no use for people leaving iutside south india and most importantly they have onle 138 channels includingtheir 22 interactive channels means it offers onle 116 channels in which 7 channels are a part of lifestyle gold pack avialable for rs.30 per month and 2 channels in sports gold pack available for rs.149 per annum,this means after deducting more 9 channels only 115 channels are available for rs.350 per which they call south jumbo pack. so they are fooling the customers altough they are adding latest channels but to get thos eu have to pay for thse channels.

TataSky is worst. They blackmail you by demanding additional money for channels which they have earlier promised as part of package. Channels are also less. A code scene is mostly interupting while seeing some programme. Their customercare before subscription is quite polite which become suddenly very rude & un helpful when u purchase it. My advise Please do not buy atleast Tata Sky .

Tata Sky is not at all good.. Their customer service sucks.. First they installed the antenna in the wrong direction, and hence the signal quality suffered. Then they ask for Rs 250 to re-install the antenna. Also, their package is very minimal. They keep removing channels from their package (that you first subscribe for ), and then charge Rs 30-50 a month for those few channels. Better go for Dish TV (lot more channels than Tata Sky) , or Hathway CAS (I saw it at a friends place, its just 1000 for the box and almost all channels. The box is free if you pay 1 yr subscription in advance)
