Game Modes

Race/Takedown Event

This is a basic race that includes reaching a destination, while taking your opponents down. It's the same as other Burnout titles and I thank the developers for that.

Burning Route

Burning Route is a time-trail that you have to complete by crossing the finish line; this is usually at the far end of the city. There's a unique compass in this mode that takes some time getting used to, but once you get a hang of it, it makes for a great racing experience. The route is for you to choose; you can go using the freeway or using the train tracks.

Marked Man

This is similar to the cop chases in NFS-Most Wanted. Your objective is to reach a destination before other racers smash you to pulp. The aggressive racers are quite competent and will make reaching the destination very difficult.

StuntRun

This is an uber-cool event; you have to perform stunts that include jumps, rolls, spins, and drifts to score points. There will be a target set for all stunt races, your objective is to reach the target score within the time limit.

Showtime

This is the replacement for Crash mode, you can activate this event at any time while roaming around the city. Just press L1 and R1 together to activate the mode, your car will jump in the air and start crashing into other cars. Pressing "boost" will cause a small explosion and throw your car at a small distance. You have to crash into other cars, which will add more boost. With this, more distance can be covered plus the damage caused will result in a final score. It's good fun, but you might lose interest after a few hours; I enjoy this mode, but I'll really miss crash mode.

Burnout series is simply awesome. It simply pawns NFS anyday.
