The Drive

The DataTraveler Mini: Migo is a vibrant little USB 2.0 thumb-drive. Its USB port conveniently hides under a plastic band that works on the sliding mechanism; it doesn't really work as the drive's protection, it just conceals it all around except for the tip.

The drive is available in 3 options, with the color of the band defining the capacity. The light blue color denotes 1GB capacity, the purple color signifies 2GB, while the dark blue model, that's with us for this review, can hold upto 4GB of data. The usable capacity provided by the drive is 3.86GB; this is exclusive of the 15MB space the Migo software occupies. I'll tell you more about this software ahead.

Build & Design

The DataTraveler Mini Migo is tiny drive with dimensions of 17.85x36.0x10.24mm. Even though it has a complete plastic build, it doesn't creak and is quite sturdy. The only point of slight worry could be that the cover of the USB port could wear out over time.

The drive is small and light that it won't be noticed even when you'd string it around a keychain loop; there's a lanyard eye-hole attached with the drive for this. A small LED on the drive helps you know when the drive is active.

Transcend lifetime warranty means only 2 years. So the Kingston warranty of 5 years is better ! But Kingston is too overpriced.
