Layout

Even though it looks different than the earlier versions, the position of important elements has not changed. It displays your Yahoo Avatar on the top-left corner which can be updated by simply clicking on it.

Next to it is the Status message drop-down menu with the ability to add custom messages.

A Search box is located below it -- here you can find anyone from your list by simply typing the their user name or Yahoo ID.

The people on your list can be sorted according to different categories like Friends, Family, etc.

Contacts can be sorted horizontally by simply re-sizing the window.

The display size of your contacts can be changed with the use of a slider.

Other than that, Yahoo has thoughtfully mentioned hotkey combinations next to every task to instantly execute it without your mouse.
