Here's taking the universal remote concept a step further
The concept of universal remotes hasn't yet caught on in India, but it's quite popular abroad.
Ricavision has updated their range of universal remotes along with the latest technology available. The Ricavision VAVE100 gives you the ability to control over 20 different entertainment devices from a distance of over 50 feet via Infrared, and has a built-in database of over 1500 worldwide brand names. Other than that, it also features Class 1 Bluetooth with A2DP for using it with your Windows Vista based media PC. It is compatible with the Microsoft Media Center and SideShow.
SideShow is the a new technology of Windows Vista enabling you to view headline news, weather, email, and pictures from your computer; it also allows you to play your desired music, get information on current movies in theaters etc. right from the comfort of your remote.
The GUI is portrayed on the 2.4" QVGA LCD display. The VAVE100 comes with a docking station that features a RC6 receiver, a Bluetooth transceiver and a power charger.
It is expected to hit the market by February next year and is available by pre-order for USD 275 (Rs. 10,725).
