    Palm Treo 750

Here's another smart one. But is it worth price it demands?

Good ergonomics, Tactile QWERTY keyboard, Multiple input options, Decent PDA functionality, Good battery life.

Slow processor cannot manage multi-tasking well, No Wi-Fi, Low-resolution camera, Minor flaws in the Windows Mobile OS, Slow data transfers, Expensive.

Smart-phones armed with QWERTY pads are increasingly becoming popular in India, especially after RIM's entry into the market with their Blackberry devices. These devices are appealing to professionals who need to get some work done during their traveling hours to work. And their diminutive size as compared to laptops obviously makes more sense in the crowded Mumbai trains, where you don't even know where your feet are!

Palm has come with up their range of QWERTY smart-phones under the Treo brand name. The Treo range has come a long way and the one that I'm reviewing today is its sixth iteration. The Palm Treo 750 smart-phone is the first device from Palm that runs the Windows Mobile Operating System. Let's see how it does after being grilled relentlessly for a few days.

Friends, Having read the description of this new phone, I feel my Qool QDA 700 (Palm OS) is still better, though it too lags on bluetooth/Wi-Fi/other similar add-on and non-availbility of supporting accessories but I feel its worth its cost of Rs.9,800/-. Moreover why one should buy Treo750 for Rs.23 K; when other similar phones like O2, I-Mate etc. are readily available at much lesser price with more or same functionality. I had the opportunity to use Treo-650 (Palm OS based) few months back. The problem I observed was the keypad which for a frequent business traveller like me was too small to be used. Further smaller screen size stole the charm I had from my earlier possessions of O2 or I-Mate handsets. Thanks for reading. Vin6174

While the Touch and Q8 are good phones, they a touch screen AND a keyboard. Plus this one comes with a nice bluetooth keyboard which probably adds around 1.5 - 2k to the final price.
