WebEx, a leading provider of on-demand applications for collaborative business on the Web, has released a co-browsing plug-in for Yahoo! Messenger.

With the WebEx branded plug-in, instant messaging (IM) users can 'co-browse', and view a Web site together via Yahoo! Messenger.

WebEx says the plug-in has been developed to enable tens of millions of Yahoo! Messenger users worldwide to easily interact and collaborate in real time during their live Web searches.

Thanks to the plug-in, users will no longer need to email- or instant message- Web links to and fro. They will be able to simultaneously view and collaborate on Web searches, which is just right for shopping or party planning or picture viewing.

Kiran Datar, managing director of WebEx Communications India, said that with the new co-browsing plug-in, they are extending reach beyond meetings and trainings into everyday instant messaging sessions.

To access the WebEx co-browsing plug-in, go to the Plug-in Picker within the Yahoo! Messenger Client. Else, it can be downloaded at: www.webex.com/go/yahoo.

Dear Techtree News Staff: I'm not pitching you, just offering myself up as a source. I have a background in engineering and Ive ran and built an office in financial services. During my career in financial services i saw Internet sites getting sold for hundred of millions and that totally inspired me. I thought to myself, if they can do it, so can I. Because of this, it occurred to me to build a site that would merge MSN (instant messaging) and apply it to a facebook community structure (This site is called Boompya, If you desire to check it out, it's at www.boompya.com and we are currently beta testing it and fixing all the bugs!. We expect it to be fully operational late December). But the reason I'm emailing is to offer myself as a source. Ive spent the last two years studying and analyzing web 2.0, especially online communities. Ive meet many people in the industry and I have some good antidotes or story angles myself. So if you ever find yourself on a deadline, feel free to call--I can probably help, or find somebody that can.
