WWII is a major franchise, be it in movies, TV shows and games, there's a great deal of intensity and drama that one relates to WWII. We've all witnessed great movies like Saving Private Ryan, Apocalypse Now, and the more recent, Letters to Iwo Jima. Games are not far behind in this respect, as Call of Duty (COD) and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (MOHAA) have depicted time and again how devastating war can be.

But that is history. Our world is in peril today. We may not realize it, living comfortable lives in our private world that starts with an "M" and ends with an "E". There's constant tension between nations as they fight for natural resources and total control. Call of Duty 4 (COD4) is a game set in our time, a game that reflects problems that we may face. The game revolves around 2 individuals who work for the United States and the British Army (SAS). Although the single player plot is decent, it's the gameplay that makes COD4 worth every penny. The game sets you in a surreal yet frantic version of war that will slowly creep deep within you. Let's read more about a game that will be a strong contender for game of the year.

Plot
The plot is very simple, 2 soldiers from different factions fighting to keep the world safe. One is a member of the elite SAS force, while the other is a part of the American army (USMC). The antagonist of the game is a man called Imran Zakehv. Using another ally named Al Asad, he takes control of a country in the Middle East by killing the president on national television. Imran's story goes way back 15 years in the past when Captain Price, an important character in the game, encountered him in a mission. So the story goes as usual -- you fight him, he fights back, he fires a nuclear missile and then well, you should play the game to find out, and it shouldn't take you long, as the single player is very short.
