A laptop hard drive as big as regular desktop drives
More and more people these days are preferring laptops over desktops. Hence the hard drive manufacturers' agenda is to provide mobile users with bigger storage spaces. This is one area where laptops have been lacking when you compare desktop hard drives having capacities as mammoth as 1TB. Now, Western Digital has come up with a laptop hard drive with a large capacity of 320 GB.
The WD Scorpio is a 2.5 incher running at 5400 RPM and has an access time of 12 milliseconds. It also incorporates Western Digital's WhisperDrive and IntelliSeek technology for silent performance and also keeps the power consumption to a minimum. Lastly, it also uses anti-shock technology to prevent the disk from damage during rough movements.
The WD Scorpio is retailing for USD 199 (Rs.8000).
