Getting Started

Getting started with Mundu IM is very easy. You can choose to either download it directly on the phone through GPRS, or download it on the PC and then transfer it to phone via Bluetooth or sync with phone through Microsoft ActiveSync. The installation procedure includes affirming to the license agreement, and choosing where to install it (Phone Memory/Memory Card) etc. Once that's done, all you need is an internet connection on your phone (GPRS, EDGE, etc). Log in to the IM client, and start chatting.



Feature

Mundu IM has a couple of features to make chat simple on the mobile phone. It has no outstanding features, it's the little things which matter and make chatting easy on a hand-held device. They might not even seem like features, but they're all worth a mention. I've listed a few below with a brief about those which I realized made chatting easy for me.

The IM client allows for saving login details like login ID and password, which almost all IM clients do now. Though this is nice, I'd like it if I could create a Mundu IM account and would just have to log in it all the time this way the privacy of my login id and contacts are maintained. Just login into Mundu IM and then the client auto-login's into the various IMs you've saved details of.



Mundu IM allows for addition of a New Contact to a specific IM. There are many clients that offer adding of new contacts, but the simplicity of the IM is undeniable. After adding a contact, you can place it in any of the groups you've made in that IM service. You can also edit contacts or organize it by moving it to another group through IM. You can also block and unblock contacts through IM, regardless of whether you've blocked the contact when using the IM service through the official IM service client.



Along with Chatting, Conference can also be carried out through IM. You can reply to a message, or choose to ignore an invite to a chat or conference. You can set your personal status along with the pre-defined status messages of the IM service.



IM allows file transfers as well, just in case your friends wish to send you a file. Though transferring of files is going to increase your bill will fly high.

I am using it on my PPC O2 mini S. Although it has some nice features, its very slow in loading. I think because it uses .net framework. But really cheap compared to its competitors, like IM+. Only if they could make it lighter and faster it would be awesome. Guess its still in development so it would improve. Good tech support too.
