    A simplistic-in-design media player

The P2 is a flash memory based digital media player released recently by Samsung. The design of this player is simple; it has a big 3 widescreen touch-screen LCD on its front. The display bears a resolution of 480x272 pixels. Due to its 16:9 aspect ratio, it's ideally suited to watch DVD-resolution movies and other videos. The touch-screen will help in easy navigation of media on the player. Another good feature is the implementation of Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP support. Due to this, 2 pairs of headphones can be synced with the player simultaneously. Samsung also included its trademark DNSE 2.0 technology for superior sound quality, which allows the user to make a custom equalization setting. Also included is the Bass extension feature for an increased "thump".

It supports MP3 and WMA audio formats as well as WMV and MPEG4 video formats. Lastly, it supports JPEG for photo viewing. Expect the battery to belt out 35 hours of listening time via a regular wired headphones set and around 12 hours when used along with a stereo bluetooth headset. The device is also expected to feature Bluetooth phone call and file transfer support via future firmware upgrades. The device packs all these features in its 9.9mm thick frame and weighs 85 grams. The 4 GB model is available for USD 199 (Rs.8,000) and the 8 GB retails at USD 250 (Rs.10,000) in the US.
