Kodak EasyShare C653: Rs. 6,995

Known for making simple and good quality cameras, Kodak has many sub-10K models in its arsenal. The EasyShare C653 is among the better and most popular of them all.
Also known as the C623, the EasyShare C653 features a 6MP CCD for prints of up to 20x30" (50 76 cm) and a 3x optical zoom lens. It sports a 2.4" LCD and offers Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) using anti-blur mode, and 20 programmed scene and 3 color modes. Its Panorama stitch mode allows you to combine 3 shots into 1 big picture. It's ISO range is 80-1,250, and it lets you capture VGA clips at 10 fps, or QVGA clips at 20 fps in QuickTime MOV format -- both with audio. It's easy to use and quite portable.
The camera has 32MB of internal memory and uses twin AA batteries. You can use rechargeable NiMH batteries as well. Mind you, Kodak cameras are power guzzlers -- so make sure keep an extra set charged and ready to use.
Overall, the C653 promises decent quality indoor and outdoor shots that you can use for those 4x6s.
For the price mentioned aboveI'm sure you'll also find a 512MB SD card, 2 NiMH batteries, NiMH charger, and camera pouch added to the bundle.
Kodak EasyShare M753: Rs. 9,999

Launched in June 2007, the M753 is a stylish model from the Kodak stables -- though not as cool looking as the V8xx series.
Available in 6 colors, the Kodak EasyShare M753 has a 7MP CCD imager and a Kodak-branded 3x optical zoom lens. It also has a 5x digital zoom and a 2.5" LCD display. But like many current models, the M753 has no optical viewfinder.
The Kodak M753 has 17 scene modes to help beginners achieve the results they're looking for without the need to understand subtleties like shutter speeds, apertures, and the like. Additional shooting modes include auto, video, favorites, digital IS, high ISO, and close-up.
Five white balance settings are available, including an auto mode. ISO sensitivity is controlled automatically from 80 to 800, or manually up to 1,250. The M753 also offers a movie mode, capturing VGA (640x480) clips at 15 fps, or QVGA (320x240) at 30 fps -- both with audio. Movies get encoded in Motion-JPEG format. You can store your images or movies on SD/MMC card or in the 16MB internal memory that the camera offers.
Powered by a proprietary KLIC-7001 lithium-ion rechargeable battery, it lasts for about 150 shots (with generous flash usage). Even so, I d suggest you get a spare battery.
