Connoisseurs and revelers need no longer journey half way across the world to soak in the beauty of legendary sights.

Italian tech firm, HAL9000, possibly named after the killer computer of Stanley Kubrick's 'A Space Odyssey', has newly posted a 16 billion pixels high resolution image of Leonardo Da Vinci's masterpiece,"Last Supper" on its Web site.

The nearly 500-years old mural, known as 'Cenacolo' in Italian, is actually located in what used to be a monk's dining hall, nearby a quaint church in Milan.

Not withstanding the many conspiracy theories around it by Dan Brown and brigade, 'Cenacolo' is said to depict Jesus Christ when he predicted that one of his own apostles would betray him.

Theories apart, now that the image is up on the Internet, people can get really up, close, and personal with "Last Supper" like never before.

Vincenzo Mirarchi, general manager of HAL9000, voiced the view that the decision had much to do with providing people an innovative way to appreciate art rather than speculating about its origins and meaning.

Mirarchi added that tourists to Milan too have to make reservations almost a month in advance to be able to see this great work of art.

Those who want to view the painting from up close, can click on:Last Supper
