Two premium phones armed with GPS receiver and more
The 8502 and the 9502 are 2 latest versions of the Ultimate Series by i-mate, which tries to encompass all premium-phone features rolled into one device.
The 8502 is shaped in a candy-bar format (on the lines of the HP iPAQ hw series). It has a generous 2.6" screen with 320x240-pixel resolution, below which lies the phone's QWERTY keypad.
The 9502 looks like the T-mobile Sidekick with a huge 2.8", 640x480-pixel screen, which slides vertically to unveil the QWERTY keypad. The 8502 sports a joystick on the front face, whereas the 9502 has a 5-way D-pad. Both feature a 360-degree jog wheel on their side for easy one-handed operation.
Both devices feature the High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) 3G network along with quad-band capabilities. Both are powered by a 400 MHz Qualcomm processor with 256 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM. They feature all possible connectivity options including EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, and USB. They will be running the latest Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional Edition.
The 8502 houses a 2MP camera, and the 9502, a 3.15MP auto-focus one. The 9502 also has a secondary VGA video-call camera. Other notable features -- which both models feature -- are Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) receiver and TV/Audio outputs.
So many features are going to need a lot of power -- and thankfully, the 8502 and 9502 come armed with a 1530 mAh and 1620 mAh Lithium-ion battery, respectively, to cater to their energy demands.
