Features
The Philips SHP2500 has a few added features over the SHP2000. The SHP2500 has a sole purpose of providing its services indoors -- given its 6m long cable, which would let you sit at quite a distance and enjoy music or videos. While it has a good point of letting you use almost any area of your living room, at the same time, it could get a little messy as well. (Just image someone tripping over the cable and the headphones set snapping off your face.) The SHP2000 missed out on a volume control. Thankfully, the SHP2500 comes with one. The volume control is at a comfortable, less than an arm's length for easy access. In case you're sitting too far off from your TV set and the remote doesn't work, this would do the trick.

The headphones set sits pretty comfortably on your ears. The large, full sized earcups add to the listening experience. They get you immersed into the sound -- but don't eliminate the surrounding noise. Unfortunately, after having the set on for over 30-40 minutes, the earcups begin to feel a little tight. The other thing is that even this headphones set from Philips has a cushion-less adjustable headband. So most of the weight is tackled by the tightness of the earcups; it's still pretty comfortable without the cushioning. I was unhappy with the dual (read messy) cable: the headphones should have a single (read clutter free) cable instead.
