Philips is a very competitive brand - especially when it comes to audio/video devices. Though it doesn't make their presence felt: hardly any advertising, etc. The company has a decent range of products available - and most at a competitive price. Today, we've one of their headphones offerings with us - the SHP2000/97. These headphones suit the needs of the casual listener. Let's see if with this offering Philips maintains delivering quality with affordability.

Yes same problem even I have. Volume is very low I can hear external noise though my PC volume is 100%. Bass is OK, not that good. And yes too much expensive, i have given MRP for this product. :(

the bass extends over a range of frequencies like a woofer and is sufficiently strong, which makes it excellent for watching movies but not so for music, works great with gogear (since the fullsond tech makes the bass stronger), and sounds refined with ipod, pc - the best headphones for the price with superior comfort

The sound is very clear though. Only problems are the tight fit of the cans on your ears and the tight excessive bass.

I'm not an audiophile when it comes to the definition of bass but I've used these headphones and I find the thump excessive. Tight is the right word to describe it. The bass is excessive and too tight without any depth according to me.

The SHP2xxx series is a new one by Philips though it resembles their old headphones in looks.

I think it's a re-launch of an earlier existing model but it is a new product. They may be improvements but one really can't say.
