In spite of being under a lot of scrutiny lately for its price, limited launch titles, and so on, PS3 is still the poster-boy for gamers worldwide. Sony slashed PS3 prices everywhere and their sales went up; but still some questions lingered, "we have the PS3, but what do we play on it? We have a few decent titles, but none that would really cause a stir in the market." Sony wanted some time to deliver, and it has finally delivered in style. Sony is about to launch some really promising titles, and I was among the lucky few who were present when Milestone Interactive showcased some of these games due to be released in India later this year. Let's take a look at what we can expect before the year ends.
Heavenly Sword

Yes, I played the review copy of this stunning title for the PS3. This is one game you should not want to miss! The game was a finished-copy and every polygon looked beautiful, the graphics are simply gorgeous; do keep in mind that the protagonist in this game is a girl. The combat system with its advanced countering techniques is challenging, which makes it even better. The level design can rival any Hollywood production, and the voice acting is as good as it gets. I can rave about the game all day, it is that good. Some people say that the game is very similar to God of War (GoW); I ask, is that a bad thing? GoW was a brilliant game; possibly the best action/Hack-n-Slash game on any console. In this title's case, the developers take the combat, style, and presentation way beyond GoW and they add a girl called Kai, so stop cribbing.
But on a more serious note, the game is a stand-alone product and isn't a rip-off from GoW. The presentation and variety in level design will hit you right from the first time you use the SixAxis to control Kai's arrows. Who is Kai, and what has SixAxis got to do with the arrows, is something I will tell you in an upcoming review.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

This game dubs "Dude Raider" for its similarities to Tomb Raider, only that it is leagues ahead of it. I played only three levels of this game that needs a lot of refinement, but I can tell you that this will be a fun game to own. This isn't a genre-defining classic; neither is it a game that will make it to the list of 10 best games in history; what it does is that it holds true to its core purpose, and that is entertaining people. The game looks great with a very Far-Cry type feel to the graphics. The game is full of puzzles and traps, and has a lot of running and jumping around to do; this is one game that will keep you glued to your TV. The melee sequences in the game are fun and look amusing. There is still a lot of time to go before the game is out, so let's hope we get to see a review version soon.
