Super-heroes alone can move mountains. What if some of them could team up?

Much prior to the PS3 and online gaming, in fact, even before the Internet and the television, there was a common interest that kept a lot of teenagers busy - comic books. Even though comics are a less chosen form of entertainment today, no one can take away the fact that that's where the legendary heroes like Spiderman, Black Panther, Wonder Woman, Scarlett Witch, and many more came into being. Don't worry, this isn't a blog entry, nor is it a futile effort to sell my collection of comic books.

I recently saw a new trailer for an EA game called Army of Two, a game that will test one's skill as a team member. The trailer showcases how one team member helps another to overcome obstacles. It made me wonder, if the same could be done with super-heroes - two very competent heroes put together in a game that is well designed. Even though there have been many games based on super-heroes, none of them have been exceptional. Marvel has released two games in their "Ultimate Alliance" series, the games although well received, still lack punch.

I am listing a few combinations of super-heroes from both, Marvel and DC comics, and one from India that I believe would make a great force, and at times even an indestructible one. Let's see if these combinations impress you, or can you think of better ones?

Batman - Captain America

The two belong to different universes, but most comic book veterans would agree that they are both excellent leaders, strong, skilled, as well as resourceful. Playing co-op with these two would be a great experience. Captain America boasts of superhuman strength and agility; and as for Batman, he is the most skilled mortal ever. One can demolish a tank with his bare hands, and the other can form a battle strategy to defeat an army within minutes. Maybe he should have had 300 Spartans behind him, no offense to King Leonidas. I believe this would be the ultimate combination of strength and intelligence in a game.

Being a big fan of comics I have over the years collected a whole lot of comics including Archies, Phantom, Tarzan Classics, Li'l Abner Classics, Wizard of Id Asterix to name a few. However the other day my nephew happened to leave the asterix collection on the floor and Rocky (my German Shepard) had a blast by tearing it all apart. I went online to purchase a new set of asterix and to my surprise (or call it luck) I got the Tintin collection free of cost for buying the asterix collection on IndiaPlaza. If any of your dogs chews of your books try this link below to find some real cool deals http://www.indiaplaza.in/books/all/ASTERIXTIN/all/the-asterix-and-tintin-collection.htm

"Wolverine is the most agile mutant ever" Nope. Not even close. Beast, Nightcrawler, Toad,...do you even READ comics?

How can u even dream up of teaming up good ol' wolvy with shaktiman??? (its really stupid and lame!) considering they are a class a part...I think he fits in more with batsy...brain and brawns.Anyway its good techtree is coming up with fresh articles for a change and I agree with navneet prakash on the part that batman roxx. However its wrong to say that there haven't been good superhero games...freedom force and marvel ultimate alliance are both excellent superhero squad based titles.Freedom Force is great for the comic relief it provides as well as the rpg elements whereas alliance builds on the x-men legends franchise. On a further note how about having a superhero - villain combination..it would be an interesting approach and provide room for some humour as well...also the gameplay elements could be made very interesting since you would need different playing styles with these characters....think kane and lynch rather than army of two...heres a wacky combo -:joker and wolverine(imagine the possibilities!)

I have a question to you? Why did you team up two opposite characters??? OK they may not have weaknesses but then it would not make them strong right!!! Anyways Good WORK... Continue being creative..

With all due respect, The Shaktimaan and Wolverine combo is as stupidest as others are interesting. The funny part is true, but I'm a big Batman and Wolverine fan myself and I would hate to see Wolverine teamed up with someone SOOOO opposite of him. Besides any Wolverine fan would know that how Wolverine loves to do things himself (he does get in trouble for his lone ranger style), but at least pair him with someone he would want to ;).
