Displays
The clamshell N76 has two displays - one external and an internal display.
The small external display camouflages with the mirror on the face of the phone. It is a 256K color TFT with a resolution of 160 x 128 pixels. The background of this screen remains in sync with the theme set on the phone. The default display of the external screen has a music menu with options such as playlist, music-player, and FM tuner. The other screen options include the Calendar and another option is a plain screen. You can switch between these screens using the gallery key that is on the right-side of the phone. The volume keys are the up/down navigation keys hence you don't require to open the clamshell always.

The internal display is a large and splendid 2.4-inch 16M color TFT that supports a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The internal display is large enough to enjoy videos, only if you don't mind the clam kept open.
Interface
The N76 is a Smartphone, and this is where it scores most of its points when put up against the RAZR. The phone runs on Symbian OS 9.2 Series 60 v3.1. The interface is as smooth as it can get. Inspite of a lot of applications open, all the menus are fast, even opening the contacts list is nippy. Only when you start playing music and work with a couple of applications, it slows down. I feel the optimization isn't perfect, but it's quite good.
The N76 comes bundled with F-Secure virus and a Firewall protection for your phone.

The phone has 26 MB of internal memory which means Bluetooth transfers will be restricted to file-sizes up to 26 MB. There is a 512 MB microSD card supplied as well which provides for a decent capacity. You can store a couple of albums and still have loads of space for those videos, games, and other applications. Quick Office, Google Maps, GPS data, Landmarks are the applications that come pre-loaded on the phone. For the Web, you have Gmail client, a Download Manager, Web Search, and a default browser. Under games there is Snakes and Mini Games which is a set of about five games; pretty good to kill most of your free time.
