Number 3: Street Fighter

Not Alpha or Zero, but Street Fighter classic - the original characters, the same moves, the same music and the same passion. This one's a god of all fighting games, and has the best use of martial arts in a video-game. This is what started it all for most gamers; remember going to the arcade every evening after school and buying arcade coupons with your lunch money to starve yourself to the joys of 2D brutality? I may have lost a few pounds due to this game as kid, but I do retain some great memories of it. I admire XBLA for recreating the SF saga, a game that truly depicts passion in gaming. Everyone is back - Ryu, Ken, Guile, Honda, and so on.
Number 2: Contra

Everyone has to have played this game. My third cousin from Delhi, my old school friend from Punjab, a 33 year old social-worker living next door, even my imaginary childhood friend "Ajooba" (I was a fan of the movie). Contra is a game that represents 8-bit gaming; it overshadows all other games in terms of fan-followng. Calling it a cult-classic is an understatement, it's an experience that can be compared to no other. Driving down the Mumbai-Pune express-way at 150 Kmph is crazy, but it's just not the same as destroying an alien race using the "S" power-up. I bet most of you are wondering which game beat Contra to the number one position...
Number 1: Prince of Persia Classic

Prince of Persia (PoP) was the first PC game that I ever played, or was it Alley Cat? Either way, I consider PoP to be the best puzzle game on PC. The game was remade into a top-selling franchise by Ubisoft, and a new PoP was created with wall-running abilities and a time-dagger. But as most of you would agree, there is nothing like the classic. So imagine both of these brilliant games coming together, a hybrid PoP made up of the classic and the next-gen for the Xbox 360. On XBLA, the classic game has the new prince with his special abilities. The game starts off just like the original PC version - you jump down a jail cell, then you progress through the game opening gates using trick ground tiles. This game has me hooked on, and I play it more than my Xbox360 titles. A must play for everyone, look forward to its full review in a few days.
This was a small preview of the XBLA, a service that makes Xbox stand out in the crowd and shine. Now let's hope the XBLA service arrives here soon!
