How to?

To convert a file located on your computer: Check File mode, click Browse and choose the file, select input format (if auto-detection fails) and output format, and submit the form.
To convert a file located on a web server: Check URL mode, enter the file URL, select input and output format.
Once you've selected the file, the drop list on the right shows the format of the file. In case it doesn't, you can manually select the format of the input file.

Near the bottom of the screen, you have a tab that allows you to select the output format for the file. Here, select the required format and check the "I accept the terms" option. You may choose to set height, width, and quality option for the file (especially image files). Now, click the OK button next to the checkbox.
From hereon, your file is uploaded to the Media-Convert server, converted to the required output format, and a download link for the file is created so that you may download the file for your use. Also, Media-Convert allows you to host that file on their servers for upto 60 days totally free of cost (if it's downloaded 2 times during every 15-day period). Now, instead of sending the video file to everyone, you can send only the link for the file that is hosted by Media-Convert servers. It also generates a GPRS/WAP download link (with a code) for that file, so you can use your phones to download or view the files.

In case of video files, you can crop (based on time) them so that only the required part is converted for download or distribution. It also allows you to select the frame rate, size, and audio and video quality as required.
Cropping is allowed for audio files as well and you can listen to the cropped part, check if it's correct, and then proceed with the conversion.
As far as document and other archive files are concerned, Media-Convert lets you convert documents like .txt, .doc, etc files to PDF, XML, etc. and vice versa. It allows you to set a password for files as well.
