The Drive
The DataTraveler Secure is named Secure for a good reason. Apart from securing private data, it also protects itself. The drive has a Titanium coated stainless steel shell, which gives it some extra weight. It is also water-proof, which adds to its vigor.

The drive has an overall strong build that it convinces you of its ability to work in extreme conditions the moment you hold it.
The drive utilizes 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) hardware-based encryption for the privacy partition that you create on it. The drive also claims read speeds of 24 MB/s and write speed of 10 MB/s - you'll find out ahead how true the claim is.
Benchmarks
We put the drive through the hardware benchmarking software - SiSoftware Sandra 2007. The drive test results obtained a Drive Index of 21 MB/s.

Performance
Single File Read 700 MB
Time Taken: 30 Seconds
Speed: 20 MB/s
Single File Write 700 MB
Time Taken: 57 Seconds
Speed: 12.3 MB/s
Multiple File Read 584 MB/173 Files/8 Folders
Time Taken: 42 Seconds
Speed: 13.9 MB/s
Multiple File Write 584 MB/173 Files/8 Folders
Time Taken: 1 minute 25 Seconds
Speed: 6.9 MB/s
After the tests, the drive did manage to partly attain the speeds it claimed to be capable of. It was faster in the write-speed tests with over 12 MB/s, but for in the read-speeds, it fell short by 4 - 6 MB/s. The overall performance of the drive is good; even though it did just a level better than the previous Kingston drive we tested.
