By now, we all know that LCD prices are sinking faster than the Titanic, and it seems like a good time to get one if you're planning to upgrade your PC or buy a new one; and of course, the bigger the better.
The last LCD we reviewed was the Acer AL2216W, now we have a similar 22-inch screen from Dell. Let's see if Dell can match the Acer's price and performance.
The Monitor
The elegant looking Dell E228WFP sports a full-black paint job and has a grainy bezel surrounding the screen. The power and OSD buttons are placed on the bottom-right of the monitor. It has a dual-color stand that is a little bulky, but provides good support for the huge 22-inch monitor.

The monitor has a 22-inch TFT LCD panel that can support a maximum resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels at 60 Hz refresh rate. The screen has a response time of 5ms, contrast ratio of 800:1, and brightness of 300 cd/m2.
Unlike the Acer we reviewed, this product from Dell has both, VGA (D-Sub) and DVI-D ports. This means, it can have 2 input sources at the same time, and you can switch between them with the touch of a button.
The panel has a viewing angle of 160 degrees (horizontal and vertical), and can tilt (using the stand, of course) 4 degrees forward and 21 degrees backwards.
