A Game of the Year edition has been introduced to the very popular role playing game, 'The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion'.
Bethesda Softworks announced that "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (GotY)" will be released for Xbox 360, PS3, and Windows PCs in September this year.
Oblivion's Game of the Year edition will include the original version 'Oblivion' along with the official expansion 'The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles', and downloadable content in the form of 'Knights of the Nine'.
The new edition, according to the company, will allow gamers continue to play existing 'Oblivion' games as well as enjoy new content.
A combination of free-form game play and unprecedented graphics, the repackaged game will enable gamers develop characters and unravel the epic at their own pace, the company said.
The official expansion, 'The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles' has over 30 hours of new game play, and features a new plane of 'Oblivion' namely the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness.
Whereas, 'Knights of the Nine' features new factions and quests for noble characters, attempting to answer the mystery surrounding Oblivion's Ayleid ruins.
According to reports, both the 'Shivering Isles' and the 'Knights of the Nine' expansions have been available for Windows PC and Xbox 360 users since the release of these consoles in November 2006 and March 2007 respectively. However, for the PS3, the new edition marks the beginning.
