Tablet
The laptop lid rotates 180 degrees and falls on its back to convert into a tablet PC. You can use the screen orientation button to change the view side. All explanation henceforth is given with the default screen view of the tablet. Converting into tablet PC, you have the speakers on the right and to the top right you get the playback controls and the quick launch buttons.

On the left side you have the microphone and the webcam. At the lower end of the screen there is the fingerprint scanner which at times came in the way while scribbling on the touch screen.

It is better to hit the screen orientation button a couple of times and have the fingerprint scanner come at the top that way it doesn't hinder your scribbling.
The stylus is placed under the laptop at the bottom left corner secured in its housing with a lock so it doesn't fall off, you have to push it back-in to eject it.
Feedback
For a tablet PC, the TX1016AU is overweight. It's not possible for an average person to hold 2kg and at the same time apply a bit of pressure and scribble. Even if it may sound not so difficult, you will develop a Popeye fore arm if you hold this baby for a couple of hour's everyday. Even if that was possible, you would have to bear the heat discharged from the air vents or get a slight burn from the area where the processor resides. It heats up as much as most laptops these days but for a tablet PC, it's a bit too much. The laptop is in no sense bad just for these few points, but it could be one of the many reasons why you would not want to use this much as a tablet PC.

The handwriting recognition of the laptop was really good. The stylus needs to be pressed firmly on the screen which gives you a slight worry at the start but once you get used to it, it's simple. The screen has a protection surface which keeps your screen safe from being scratched though it hinders sight of the display. The protection film creates a sense of blur and makes you feel like you have acquired a number and need to buy a pair of spectacles.
