New Age Protoss

Although there aren't many details out yet, Blizzard has released information about 4 Protoss units and 1 building. There are more than 4 units in the Protoss race, a race that most Starcraft veterans would know was quite powerful in the original Starcraft. Although my favorite was the Terran, that's the race I am most excited about. I will let you in on some info about the Protoss. The Protoss were energy guzzlers, they required loads of energy (loads, energy, does that count as a pun?). They are technologically more advanced than the other races. Let's see what Starcraft II has to offer with the new Protoss.

Zealot

These are warrior knights that thrive to prove their worth and advance in ranks in the Protoss army. They are naturally strong, but their physical ability is further increased by Cybernetic implants and a power suit that makes them a formidable foe. Their primary weapons are blades created by energy; these make them deadly melee combatants. They are exceptional at dodging attacks and striking at blazing pace.

Immortals

These ranged heavy assault units are crucial against any enemy for a Protoss victory. Immortals are actually Protoss warriors, who were critically injured in battle. With the help of Exoskeleton, they still fight and have become an important factor in their war strategy. They are armed with twin phase disruptors and an energy shield that acts as their only defense.

Stalker

These units are rightly named so; their primary ability is to ambush the enemy. They cloak themselves invisible in the shadows and strike the vital points in an enemy defense. It could be killing an important unit or destroying an important structure, the Stalkers can do it all. They can blink from one position to another and quickly engage a fleeing enemy.

Phase Prism

This is primarily a transport unit that can transfer both organic and inorganic units onto the field. It is very vital for calling extra forces on to the battle field, it can also act like a source of energy.

WarpGate

A warp gate is used by warp warriors to enter the battlefield directly from their HQ. This is the fastest way of sending back up to the battleground. There is a certain science that one needs to understand about Warp gates. They work in an energy matrix created by the Protoss. In the upcoming preview of Starcraft II, I will further explain the theory as it requires a few more terms to be understood about the Protoss and their energy Matrix.
