Nokia has tried to redefine its class introducing their slim and stylish, 6300. It emerges from the 6230/6230i phones, which are still favorites in the market. Nokia did try to give users the much needed upgrade to 6230i with the launch of the 6233, but it failed to deliver. They hope that this new phone could bring them back in the game. So can it really, or will it just see another fall like the 6233?

Nokia 6300 is really a good phone from nokia's stable, although its battery life is very poor but other features are really good. The phone has about 8MB of phone memory, but it shows only 4 MB free?Can anyone suggest how to free up phone memory?

i purchase this phone but within 7 months it start giving problem apne aap hi off ho jata hai phir on hi nhi hota i gave it to nokia repair shop for 6 times but no improvement and now i gonna to bye new phone but other than nokia bcoz i m not satisfied with there service...... and my suggestion is to u is that not to bye nokia set bcoz of poor servicing

I purchased Nokia 6300 on 19 May 2009.The Alert Ring is very weak. It is not audible even from a distance of one metre in open area. I gave it to Nokia Service Centre at Jaipur, they too could not help to improve it. They say that it is the in built weakness of the 6300. The reviews from the users in europe have not high lighted this problem, does this mean the Nokia Factory in China is producing sub-standard stuff.

its because the camera of nokia 6300 is a basic CMOS camera which can not perform batter in low light conditions...so because of this whenevr u'll try to take picture in low light,it'll show some greenish shade...but u can easily correct it by using any simple photo editing software from ur pc.

I bought the phone in jan this year. Although the phone has good features and a simple yet appealing styling, the battery backup is very less, esp for ppl with girlfriends. ;-) One more thing, the stainless steel panel at the back is good but prone to scratches. I use creative headphones for listening music and it really rocks!!

Install Nokia PC Suite(preferably latest version), and connect the MiniUSB into phones' USB port and in Computers' USB port. Nokia PC Suite should detect your phone and you will be able to transfer data to and from your phone.

But these low bit rate mp3 audio are not easily available. 128 Kbps mp3 songs are more common. Music quality in some low bit mp3 may not be good, but most often it is not noticeable, and sounds as good as 128 Kbps songs.

After purchasing this phone , I have lost my confidence in NOKIA. The Barttery life is really low. It gives me 24 hours with normal talk-time. In low light the camera gives blury pictures. Menu options are not good as My old phone( 6600 ). At Rs 10,500 ( 2 months back ) I think I made a huge mistake. My next phone is not a Nokia for sure. Can anyone Suggest any phone with FM/MP3 but WITHOUT camera.

i have had this phone for more than w months now, no issues untill i tried upgrading the Firmware using PC Suite the '#' key shortcut to switch to silent does not work after upgrade. Now the keeps getting switched off n cant be switched-on unless you plug the charger though not sure if that bcoz of firmware upgrade or not.

The Sony Ericsson K750i is by far the best in the 10K range, I think. I bought one from the Sony World showroom for 10k, and it came bundled with the standard 64mb card, and amazingly, a Bluetooth headset too, and the company's original bill, and warranty.

Yes. It is symbion! But OS is series 40. so you can not install Symbion applications. You can install Java apps only... Series 60 gives you the possibility of adding Symbion apps.

Its not "latest edition of Series 40 UI" Its Series 60UI. As for battery life issue,lets see sony or moto come up with a phone with same resolution and graphic ability with better batt. life. Camera is a damp squib though.

Ae we seeing a churn or revisiting the basic functional requirements like standby power after flirting with rarely used features and unnecessary experimentation in dimensions to rouse curiosity value ? Majority of users as in west seem to have had enough with phone plus features!

I am using nokia 6300 and it looks is great but most it`s battery life and camera resolution is not so good as compare to my other samsung 2megapixel mobile.Nokia has no doubt made a good looking but it has to do something to upgrade the battery life if this phone is to survive in this tough market.

This Phone s u c k s big time. few drops of water into head phone socket and My phone got permanetly into headphone mode. No repairs possible at Nokia care. Poor Poor Poor battery life. Average quality sound. Only thing good is the screen. Plays 3gp videos at quite clarity. Also this phone hangs while playing Videos. Sold the phone within 15 days in 7 K. Bought in 12.3 K in feb 2007.

I have a Nokia 6300, am very much satisfied with the choice I made, but am not satisfied witht the battery standby time of the 6300. In the data Nokia shows 348 hrs but it last only for 48 hrs with partial usage. Otherwise a very good phone

An good application advertised but not included on the phone - he nokia wireless commander is something nokia should ensure as the phone side application is not downloadable as far as i could find.

Poor battery life appears to be the main grouse against this. Otherwise , I feel it is outstanding in design and functionality. Why on earth did Nokia aim for 10MM barrier is not understandable? Up to 15 MM is acceptable width for human beings but phone not lasting a full day is deplorable. As a rule any screen which is that big with that kind of resolution should be supported by a 1100Mah battery. Many phone spec sheets appear silent on battery power and talk about talk time which is not realistic.

Great review! One complaint is that from not-so-geeks like me who don't understand what is A2DP or Java MTDP or whatever, can such 'keywords' have a link to tech directory where a better explanation is kept (as in Wikipedia)? It'd be very useful. Thanx.

pkapadia, In short if your mobile supports A2DP(Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), your mobile will support bluetooth "STEREO" headphones. That means you can enjoy wire free stereo music. And Mobile Information Device Profile (MTDP) defines a set of Java application programming interfaces (API's) that provide an application runtime environment for mobile...I guess its a JVM for mobile :)

This Phone sucks big time. few drops of water into head phone socket and My phone got permanetly into headphone mode. No repairs possible at Nokia care. Poor Poor Poor battery life. Average quality sound. Only thing good is the screen. Plays 3gp videos at quite clarity. Also this phone hangs while playing Videos. Sold the phone within 15 days in 7 K. Bought in 12.3 K in feb 2007.

Email client doesn't support secure connections ( SSL/TLS) so you can't pop gmail. The camera is pretty slow. Otherwise it's a good phone.
