Nvidia has announced the 'Nvidia Windows Vista Competition' to design Gadgets for Microsoft Windows Vista. Entries to the competition will be accepted till May 24th.
To enter the competition, go to http://www.nvidia.in/object/vista_contest_in.html, take a short quiz, and upload your Windows Vista Gadget. You could well be the winner of Nvidia GeForce graphics cards and other goodies.
For information about building your Windows Vista Gadget, go to http://microsoftgadgets.com.
Windows Vista Gadgets are mini-applications that are written in html and JavaScript, and can be designed to do just about anything.
To view existing Windows Vista gadgets uploaded by people across the globe, visit http://gallery.live.com/.
The 'Nvidia Windows Vista Competition' will be judged by representatives from Nvidia and Microsoft. The deciding parameters will be usability, links, design, and use of Nvidia and Microsoft elements. Winners will be declared on May 31st.
Top three gadget entries will win prizes. The first prize is an XFX Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS worth Rs 25,000, the second prize a big Nvidia GeForce 8500GT, and the third a Sparkle Nvidia GeForce 6200.
Besides, every fifth person to correctly answer the short quiz will also win Nvidia goodies.
Speaking at the occasion, Rajesh Goenka, Head of Marketing, India & Middle East, Nvidia, said, the initiative is aimed at giving end users the chance to win an Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS.
Rishi Srivastava, Director of Windows Client Business Group, Microsoft India, said, side bar gadgets enable users to access anything they want in a simplified and convenient manner, and through this contest, Nvidia has opened up the possibility for users to develop more and more innovative gadgets exactly as they want, and that will in the end benefit all other desktop/Windows Vista users.
