Sega has reportedly announced the development of "Sonic Rush Adventure," sequel to 'Sonic Rush,' for the Nintendo DS.
"Sonic Rush Adventure" will utilize both screens of the Nintendo DS. It promises to deliver the dual-screen action that fans loved in 'Sonic Rush,' plus a new high seas adventure with Sonic crossing swords with ruthless pirates.
As Sonic, the player will set off from Windmill village to explore seven islands for action-packed adventures spread across a larger map. As the player moves, he/she will uncover valuable items that allow the Tails to build new ships that in turn would help Sonic track down the villainous pirates.
With a fleet of up to five ships, including a submarine, water bike, and hovercraft, players can use the touch-screen technology in exciting new ways to control ships, as they race across the ocean, gathering rings, busting tricks, and torching pirate ships in fierce ship-to-ship battles.
At the end of each level, players will test their skills in epic 3D battles that span both screens, including the ultimate showdown with the evil pirate, Captain Whisker.
In "Sonic Rush Adventure," players will battle various characters, including robots, skeleton warriors, pterodactyls, and a robotic triceratops both on land and at sea, through 14 action stages panning 7 different islands.
Besides, players will be able to compete with friends in wireless racing and mission-based battles using the DS Download Play feature or Nintendo Wi-Fi connection.
"Sonic Rush Adventure" for the Nintendo DS is scheduled for availability in the Fall of 2007.
