This power packed 'most networked portable multimedia player' from Cowon will be available in the US markets this year.
Cowon has recently unveiled their all new Q5, which is supposedly the 'most networked portable multimedia player' in the market. This PMP sports a five-inch widescreen LCD featuring a touch sensitive interface with Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 Professional operating system and an AMD Alchemy Au1200 processor. The Q5's connectivity capabilities put it ahead of any others from the PMP pack. The Q5 includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and even an HSDPA connectivity.
The Wi-Fi and HSDPA radios are primarily designed for connecting to the web via Internet Explorer, while the Bluetooth technology allows for wireless connectivity to headphones and for sharing files with other Bluetooth devices. An optional GPS navigation makes this device a serious feature-packed player. Other features include DVR functionality for recording your favorite TV shows, built-in speakers and an FM radio. The Q5 is a bit on the bulky side however; it measures 5.5 x 3.5 x 0.8 inches and weighs 13.4 ounces.
The Cowon Q5 will be available in the U.S. by the end of this year's 2nd Quarter. The Q5 will be released in 2 different models. The 40GB will run you for around $499 (Rs.22,500) whereas the 60GB would be for $549 (Rs.25000). No word on its availability in India.
