After last week's blocking of YouTube by the Thai government over defaced images of their King Bhumibol Adulyadej, reportedly, the government today said it will again petition YouTube to remove all video clips deemed 'insulting' to the revered monarch, especially so since the number of 'mocking' videos on the site is on the rise.

While the original clip was removed from YouTube last week itself, the brouhaha has only succeeded in spurring YouTube users worldwide to create and post their own brand of more such 'mocking' videos on the site.

So much so that an angry Communications Minister, Sitthichai Pookaiyaudoom, said the government will shoot off a letter to YouTube's parent company, Google, today itself, explaining why the clips are offensive to their king.

Pookaiyaudoom made a strong statement that Thai people worship the king, but foreigners do not understand this sentiment, so they have to get down to the business of explaining.

He asserted they will continue to block YouTube till everything stands corrected and all clips are deleted.

He reiterated what he said last week - that Google is ignoring Thailand's pleas because it is a small country. Accusing Google of double standards, the minster cited an instance wherein Google had agreed to censor its search engine in China.

Meanwhile, Thai newspapers are lambasting the handling of the YouTube controversy. One English language paper even said in its editorial that the authorities have escalated a hateful, homemade graffito into an international affair...

nobody should interfear the personal liberty of any body n this world.since human body is composed of by the nature ,so one should not do anything which may jeopardise one's peaceful individual right.it may be the king or may be any non king.and again making a forceful intruder in someone's life is really bad.i condemn it act which may malign the image of the king of thailand without his fault to mankind.
