Compact Capabilities

The PS3 comes with a Blu Ray drive: a Sony exclusive. For those of you who were hibernating while its development news was all over, Blu Ray is a giant in the optical disc market with a storage capacity of 25GB for single layer and 50 GB for a dual layer disc. Sony plans to use Blu Ray for movies, games and other forms of data storage. The PS3 is the cheapest Blu Ray player in the market and Sony believes that this is one of the strong points of the PS3. The PS3 comes with a standard SDTV (Standard Definition TV) and HDTV (High Definition TV) supporting resolutions from 480i to 1080p. Along comes an awesome array of card reader slots for SD/MMC, CompactFlash and Pro Duo memory sticks. At its core is a 60GB HDD, you can use it to store all kinds of data including your music, videos, movies and photos.
Comfortable Controller

One of the first happy realizations which struck me as I sat in front of the devil console gearing up was that of its controller. Holding it in my hand, it felt as light as air. It looks and feels just like your old PS2 controller, so you will feel right at home. The R2 and L2 buttons are pushed along the curve at an angle instead of going right in, like the previous controller. There is no rumble effect in this one which is a major let down, but the brand new Motion Sensor is awesome. You don't dance around with it like the Wii; instead, just sit back and tilt it with comfort. You can drive, fly and play other games with it. I tried out the controller with a game called Lair, a game that revolves around dragon riders where you control the dragon's flight and aerial maneuvers with the controller and it works like a charm. If Eragon had one of these, he wouldn't need Brom.
Psst..There is a buzz in the industry that the rumble effect may be back after a few months.
