The game is very volatile. Explosions are a vital part of the total experience. There are explosive barrels all over the place and you can shoot and blow them up to take care of a small group of Akrids. As you progress in the game, you end up fighting a large group of snow pirates as well. Unlike Yuri's group, these aren't friendly pirates. What's worse is that these pirates are equipped with the most modern weaponry and advanced Vital Suits (VS). These suits are similar to mech-warriors and are essential for winning against the snow pirates and the Akrid bugs. There are different kinds of Vital Suits ranging from heavy to light armor, as well as ones that can transform into snow mobiles. The VS are an imperative part of the game play and one has to master the suits to be able to defeat the bigger enemies. There is more to the game play: little but significant tools are provided for various odd situations, for example, a hook, with a very strong cable is attached to you that can be used to reach lofty places. There is also the concept of collecting T-energy. These are like orbs that you normally see in Hack and Slash games, you need the T-energy to survive the cold. Wayne can collect the energy by walking over it; the energy is released when you kill an Akrid. If your health goes low, your T-energy compensates by filling it up. So if the T-energy gets stumpy, you need to kill some of those buggers and stack up your energy levels. The T-energy keeps depleting every second as you play, so you need to keep a track of it and refill as and when it gets low.

Graphics and Sound
The graphics are simply superb and no two ways about that. The textures are detailed, the effects portrayed brilliantly and on the whole, the game is a visual treat. You will feel like a part of the planet and the ugly bugs will look life-like on your HD-enabled LCD (If you have one). The sound effects are genuine and add up to the total atmosphere, again if you have an awesome sound system.

Conclusion
This is a must buy for every Xbox360 owner. An Xbox exclusive, Lost Planet is worth every bit of hype. An engrossing game play, it will make you crave for more. Go get your copy now!
