    Just Dial Services, the popular telephonic search service, has now launched a local search engine at www.justdial.com.

Just Dial Services has announced the launch of its local search engine, 'www.justdial.com', to provide users information across multiple categories instantaneously.

An open search application, Just Dial gives users the liberty to define their search, while supporting it with intelligence that picks up synonyms and phonetics, rendering much more effectiveness and ease-of-use.

V S S Mani, Founder and MD, Just Dial, said, "Just Dial started its operations in 1996, and till date, I must say, we have had tremendous success, and to us, the new value adds are ways to make information more easily accessible to all those who seek information. Following the success of our telephone based search service, we saw the need to expand our services to reach users via multiple tools, which would make local searches convenient, fast, and highly accurate for consumers. With the proliferation of mobile phones and the Internet, JustDial.com aims to make local search information available at the click of a button."

Currently, Just Dial local search can be availed on www.justdial.com for 14 cities; Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Ernakulum, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Vadodara, and Vizag. The service can also be availed on telephone by dialing 2888 8888 in these cities. In future, it can be availed by sending 'FIND' as SMS to 3999.

The Internet search will, for instance, allow consumers looking for Chinese restaurants in a suburb of Mumbai to get results instantly. These would include a host of relevant options along with their respective menu cards.

"Just Dial employs over 2,500 personnel across 11 cities. Customers who have a complaint can update us by calling on the same number and informing about discrepancies in information," Mani said.
