Although the camera we have today was released along with the A630 (which we reviewed some time back), it's just becoming popular here, in the Indian market. Maybe it's due to the fact that people have realized why we need a camera that captures more pixels or maybe they just believe in the bigger-is-better notion. Either ways, it's a win-win situation.

So, let's see what the A640 has to offer.

The Camera

The Powershot A640 features a 2.5-inch vari-angle LCD screens, 4x optical zoom, Digic II processor, and 10.0 megapixel CCD. It also has a maximum ISO 800 sensitivity setting and a 'Safety Zoom' feature.

Housed in a matte, black canopy, it measures 109.4 x 66 x 49.1 mm and weighs around 245 grams.
