Gamebox 2007 saw over 11,000 gaming buffs compete for the championship that was held in 240 Reliance World outlets across 104 cities between January 16 and 28, 2007.

The National Gamebox Championship 2007 was contested at four levels local, circle, zonal, and national. The Championship included popular games such as Counter Strike 1.6, Half Life 2: Death Match, Need for Speed: Underground, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, and The Age of Mythology.
The finals of the Gamebox National Championship 2007 were held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, where a total of 36 contestants from 15 cities competed.
The five-member team from Mumbai: "A. T. E. Accuracy, Teamwork, Experience", comprising Ben Varghesi (19), Mikhail Mehra (21), Hasnain Sayed (16), Ritesh Shah (19), and Amar Ratnan (19) emerged as winner of Counter Strike 1.6.
This apart, most other winners were also from Mumbai. Sat S Mayekar, a 17 year old from Mumbai, won the Need For Speed-Underground Championship; while another Mumbaikar, Sagar, won Warcraft III: Frozen Throne. The popular Age of Mythology Championship, was also won by a 20 year old Engineering student from Mumbai, Ashish Shinde; while Half Life 2: Death Match was won by 21 year old Garav Dhillion, a first year BCA student from Chandigarh.
The Gamebox National Championship 2007 claims the highest participation, with prizes to be won to the tune of Rs 10 lakhs.
