F-Secure has said its "Internet Security 2007" will provide consumers with advanced protection against new and unknown threats.

The company said the new product features remarkable new features to help further strengthen its leadership in the data security market.

Speaking about the new product, Ari Alakiuttu, Vice President of Product Marketing, F-Secure, said, "Consumers have a right to data security products that offer them protection at every possible level of interaction with the online world. We believe at F-Secure that the latest version of F-Secure 'Internet Security 2007' incorporates world class features, and will set the standard for all other data security products serving the home and small office segment."

"Internet Security 2007" has the new F-Secure DeepGuard technology, which will not only analyze new programs once they enter the system, but will also persistently monitor the behavior of software in real-time mode, scanning for suspicious program behavior, and stopping activities that might pose a risk.

And unlike most competing proactive detection technologies, F-Secure DeepGuard uses advanced real-time heuristics, and works quietly in the background.

It is also learnt that F-Secure has improved its detection rates and removal capabilities by adding another spyware engine solution to F-Secure "Internet Security 2007". The integration has been enhanced to include target scanning, in addition to real-time scanning, and manual system scans.

Furthermore, F-Secure "Internet Security 2007" has three different Parental Control Profiles, including Child (White listed sites only), Teenager (Content Based Filtering), and Parent (Full Access). Anything falling outside of the parameters set by these profiles is automatically blocked. And as before, parents can also exercise their discretion over the time used by their children on the Internet using the Time Lock feature.

The F-Secure "Internet Security 2007" also features the new Web scanning facility wherein Web traffic can be scanned for viruses, and harmful content can be blocked from reaching the user system already at protocol level.

Moreover, this product includes a number of additional security features and improvements like unprecedented protection against rootkit malware with F-Secure BlackLight technology; improved spam detection and performance due to an upgraded engine version; anti-phishing for emails; minimized usage of network bandwidth through improved database update mechanisms; improved solution and system performance through reduced use of system resources; and smoother installation experience through added guidance for users when installing for the first time.

Meanwhile, F-Secure "Internet Security 2007" (IS2007) is already available from F-Secure's e-store and in shops from the last week of December 2006. And all customers with a valid F-Secure Internet Security 2006 service subscription will get the upgraded IS2007 for free.

Besides, Microsoft Vista support, for both 32bit and 64bit, will also be offered for free to IS2007 customers at the end of Q1 this year. The new advanced features of F-Secure "Internet Security 2007" will also be available for F-Secure's corporate solutions at the beginning of this year.

Kaspersky is the best.. does not tax the system & is quite effective.. updates are available every 2-3 hrs.. it also scans quitely in the background without affecting the system performane like other well known AV solutions.. Another good AV is Bitdefender 10.... its also as good as Kaspersky.... Its time to get one instead of the well known tard we know..
