Epson has announced the launch of the Epson Stylus CX6900F, its newest AIO (all-in-one) printer with integrated PC-less fax function.

With the printer's 33.6Kbps color fax modem, Auto-Redial function, and speed dial memory with a capacity of up to 60 numbers, sending and receiving faxes is a breeze. Besides, the CX6900F can function as a stand-alone printer without being tethered to a PC.

The Contrast Levels setting allows users select the precise fax print quality that they need. Unwanted faxes can be held at bay by simply tapping on 'on' or 'off' on the Auto Answer mode.

The Stylus CX6900F features a one-line LCD screen fitted snugly onto a one-touch control panel for selection and confirmation of tasks. The printer can connect to PictBridge devices, and its card slots accept all the common memory cards.

With scanning resolutions of up to 1200dpi, documents and images can be captured in a crisp quality. A simple copy function lets users choose between black and color-rich copying - with a tap on the one-touch button.

The combination of DURABrite pigment inks and Epson's proprietary Micro Piezo print head technology produces superior quality black and white and color prints. The DURABrite inks come in INKdividual cartridges, making for a reduction in operational costs.

With print speeds of up to 27 pages per minute for black text and color print-outs, and up to 29 seconds for 4R prints, together with Epson's Variable Sized Droplet Technology that is capable of a minimum 3 picolitre droplet size, not to mention print resolutions of up to 5760dpi, the Stylus CX6900F is capable of rendering a smooth finish to even the most demanding of color prints.

For the creatively inclined, the bundled Epson Creativity Suite offers a set of common image management tools. Besides, photos can be further personalized by choosing from among a wealth of templates or better still - creating one.

The Epson Easy Photo Fix restores old and jaded photos with one click.

Epson's Stylus CX6900F is already available for a price of Rs 11,500.

Well, at last we have it from Epson - a Fax capable AIO. However, i still do not understand what took them so long to understand the need for a Fax AIOs, especially since all the rival brands (HP, Canon, Brother) already sport these devices since quite a long time. Hope they also introduce some models at lower prices for those with smaller pockets. Only, then can they hope to get a foot-hold in this segment. The present model is however, quite a decent one and considering the looks, some people might actually consider buying it. Besides, epson printers have the advantage of sporting a very low (probably, the lowest in the industry) running cost, as even the original cartridges are very cheap. I don't get it why people are so morons to go for brands (such as HP) that spend lavishly on publicity, promotionals & marketing, yet on the performance front can not offer even a penny's worth.

That's very well said. I wonder too why people bother to go for a HP. They have way too high running cost, no decent service, and even quality does not rank as high as Epson. I have an Epson that came with a 2-year on-site warranty, and they come and service my machine within 30 mins of my phoning them. So much for HP, my friends who bought HP are saddled with stuff they have to lug around to the service center every time it fails...
