You want them sleek. You want them sexy. You want them sophisticated. And you want them not to burn a hole in your pocket. We are talking about laptops and MSI claims to incorporate all of the aforementioned aspects. Let's see if MSI Megabook S271 lives up to its claim.


Features


The sleek laptop comes in full black matt finish. "Cute", was the first word, the laptop earned for itself after taking it out of the box. The MSI name is imprinted in the middle of the laptop, with a silver circle around it. Frankly speaking, the name was actually spoiling the ultra-sleek looks of the laptop. Weighing around 2 Kg, it felt quite light as compared to the last laptop, I tested, 'ACI Matrix', which was almost around 3 Kg. I am bit inclined towards light weight laptops, as they really define the term 'portability'. But, more often the ultra-portable laptops miss out few features and are low in performance. This is where MSI is striving to strike the right balance between performance and weight.

59k for this config is way too much....when competitive products with same config are available for around 38-40k without OS and around 43-44k with OS. Its hard to imagine why MSI would make its laptops so pricy....for 59k one can very well get a SONY VAIO centrino Duo Laptop with 13.3 wide Screen, 512MB DDR2 etc.
