Today, Epson launched the Epson Stylus Pro 3850 professional printer, which promises to be one of the most compact A2 printers on the market.
The printer is targeted particularly at the Professional Photography, Fine Art, Proofing, and Graphics market segments.
At less than 20kg of weight, the Stylus Pro 3850 sports a compact new design and narrow depth, yet delivering large format prints up to A2 size.
The compact form factor makes the printer perfect for smaller workspaces, without having to compromise on quality or output size.
The Stylus Pro 3850 features Epson's UltraChrome K3 inks that are excellent for color, Greyscale, or Black and White printing.
The wide gamut makes for superior tonal gradation, offering improved color reproduction and precise detailing.
Thanks to the presence of Black, Light Black, and Light Light Black, users can achieve a smoother transition between different levels of Grey, thus improving areas of shadow and light in the prints.
The stable formulation of these inks helps combat Metamerism effects, irrespective of ambient lighting.
Complementing Epson's UltraChrome K3 inks is Epson's Variable Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT) that adjusts the size of each ink droplet being ejected from the print head.
And, like other Epson printers, the latest printer relies on Epson's robust Micro Piezo print head to ensure consistent print output.
Once paper type is selected, the Printer Driver automatically selects the type of Black required, whether Matte or Photo Black, thus doing away with the need for manual switching of ink cartridges. Besides, the Pro 3850 supports large capacity ink cartridges (80ml), making for greater efficiency.
A unique feature of Epson's new printer is an all new image-processing algorithm, which reduces graininess and enhances image quality in low-resolution and bi-directional modes.
Further, the printer has an onboard Ethernet port for easy networking, doing away with the need for a manual router.
The Epson Stylus Pro 3850 is immediately available for around Rs 83,500 apiece.
