"Click-to-call" ads let users speak directly to advertisers they might find on a Google Search results page - over the phone and free of cost.
Today, Google announced the launch of its AdWords "Click-to-call" feature in the country. "Click-to-call" ads are online ads designed to let users speak directly to advertisers they might find on a Google Search results page - over the phone and free of cost.
The "Click-to-call" ads can be identified by means of a green telephone handset located next to the text of the advertisement.
When a user clicks on the title of such an ad, the ad expands and shows off a field wherein the user then enters his/her telephone number.
Upon entering the phone number, and clicking 'Connect For Free', the user gets a direct call from the advertiser.
Google says, not only would "Click-to-call" ads offer speed and convenience, but that they would also protect user privacy by blocking the user's phone number from the advertiser.
Announcing the launch, Sundararaman K, Head of Sales of Google India, said, "Click-to-call is in line with our mission of looking for new ways to help our advertisers reach their customers, and will increase the usefulness of the Internet for shoppers, merchants, and advertisers in India."
"It will be particularly valuable for merchants or advertisers who may not have a web site, or as a supplementary channel for those who currently use local directories to reach potential customers. 'Click-to-call' can also be used to generate added leads for clients that offer services via phone or call center to their clients."
Google AdWords "Click-to-call" acts as a sort of 'on-the-spot' connect between advertisers of all sizes and shapes and their potential customers who are in a sense always on the look-out for newer products and services on the Internet.
This is cery common and very sucessful in US. I hope this kind of ad will rock in India. Google is going to make atleast 400% more revenue next year 2007. All the best for Google. It is also a good news for SEM proff like me.
This is a very good concept. I think Google has removed the time lag of communication between the advertiser and the customer. Great going Google. Cheers !!
