HellGate. Does that name ring a bell? To anyone who follows gaming news, it surely would. This is one of the most talked about games in the community, and has been so for more than a year now. The game first figured in the picture (or video rather) in E3 2005, since then anxious gamers wait every passing month to get their hands on this work of art that involves blood, gore, killing, demons, and hell.

No, I don't mean to be sarcastic; I know that this game is going to be a major hit and will definitely engage gamers for years to come. Why such strong compassion you ask? I say read on and learn.

The Invasion Starts

HG is under development by Flagship studios, which consists of ex-Blizzard employees, most of which have worked on the Diablo series. Housing such a talented bunch, who has worked on probably the best RPG experience i.e. Diablo, you can expect a great game from these guys.

Hellgate: London is a FPS/RPG blend in a post-apocalyptic setting, and as such features a number of elements related to the Diablo series. The game is played in both first and third person perspectives, and the gameplay is based heavily on the character's stats, as per role-playing games, as opposed to the player's personal skill in a first-person shooter.
