Remember F.E.A.R, the game that turned your nights into a fright-fest? The game that took the genre of FPS games to an entirely new level of perfection. So, when an expansion pack was announced, I for one was excited. When I finally got my hands on the game, it turned out to be great, but it was a little too true to the original. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but then what's the point of waiting for more than a year and getting the same product? Read on to know more.
Story
Extraction Point (EP) starts with the crashing of the chopper carrying "Team F.E.A.R". After crash-landing, you have to reach the extraction point on foot. What follows after that is a struggle for survival, with enemies both new and old. Alma is back and so is Fettel, apparently Alma resurrects Fettel. You, along with your team members, Douglas Holiday and Jin Sun-Kwon, fight your way through the city. There are quite a few twists in the story, but I guess they won't come as a surprise to you. The story, I might add, can be dramatic at times, but then what's life without a little drama? The game is short and hence the story has a few surprises, but I won't spoil them for you. Play the game and enjoy some decent surprises.

Gameplay
It all boils down to the gameplay, as that's what everyone is looking forward to. Sadly the game offers nothing new; it's the same as F.E.A.R. Most would argue that since this is an expansion, you can't expect much change. But even then when you wait so long for a game, your expectations are high. You see this is a great game and a must have for all FPS fans. It's the same prize-winning experience from last year, so there is no argument about its values as an FPS.

They have a couple of new weapons and new enemy types, which is what you would expect in an expansion. F.E.A.R was appreciated for its action and horror factor; this expansion outperforms both. You still get those chills, every time Alma comes along. The eerie feeling is experienced throughout the game, which makes it more interesting. There is more to do this time, more enemies, more barrels to blow, more fire power, and more fear. No game can surpass FEAR, when it comes to the astounding gun battles, with or without bullet time. This time around with the inclusion of the mini-gun, a laser gun and a turret, you can go crazier than before. My personal recommendation is the mini-gun; it can rip the enemy apart within second and it's a treat for your sadist eyes.
