MSI P6N Motherboards for Gaming

The P6N series consists of motherboards based on Nvidia nForce 680i SLI/ 650i SLI/ 650i Ultra MCP, which is designed specifically for Intel Core 2 Extreme dual core as well as quad-core and Core 2 Duo processors.
MSI has said that all the hardware design of the P6N series products will be Vista Premium-ready.
Aimed at the hard-core enthusiast, the P6N series motherboards provide extensive support for the latest cutting-edge technologies, including enhanced support for Nvidia SLI multi-GPU technology, and its Gigabit Ethernet ports and advanced storage features, delivering a wonderful and extreme experience to enthusiasts.
In addition, the P6N series can support the widest FSB range, including the upcoming FSB1333, combined with high-performance memory DIMMs, and more PCI Express graphics slots.
One of the motherboards from the new series includes "MSI P6N Diamond". The company claims this motherboard to be the latest standard for the enthusiast level. Diamond supports FSB1333 and up to DDR2 1000 special memory module, FB2000 for overclocking, and DDR2 1200 or higher with better CPU and memory modules. It features a built-in 4 PCI-E x16 slot design with x8 or x16 bandwidth. MSI recommends the Quad SLI and other special cards for upgrade as the company believes that they are the best design for 680i chipset specification.
Additionally, MSI has focused on the 3D gaming visual experience as well as audio quality. Diamond features a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio, which the company considers to be the best hardware 7.1 surround audio for all motherboards.
Apart from this, the P6N Diamond also includes the eSATA solution with power on instant backup technology.
Another motherboard from the P6N series includes the MSI P6N SLI Platinum. According to the company, it is an extreme SLI gaming platform for mainstream gaming users. The basic features of the motherboard include Core 2 Quad processors and Vista Premium. It is built with 2 PCI-E slots to support SLI graphic and either f1 PCI-E 16x or 2 PCI-E 8x.
Until now FSB 1066 and DDR2 800 was the only standard, but MSI claims that P6N SLI Platinum can reach FSB2000 and DDR2 1200, which is possible because of its unique components that gives a great overclocking range to all gamers.
The P6N SLI Platinum features built-in in 4 SATA NV RAID and 1 extra eSATA for instant back-up function, even when the system is on. Additionally, it also has specially designed chipset for heatsink solution that allows users to overclock easily and reduce significant heat that may cause the board to breakdown due to high temperature.
The P6N SLI Platinum is expected to be available in the market by end of December 2006.
