Looks And Design
Motorola always stands out from all mobiles for the style statement that their handsets make. The KRZR K1 is no less; it is an even better beauty to look at. The KRZR goes beyond the RAZR to provide absolute style. Just like the RAZR, the KRZR is a clamshell as well. The RAZR was large and would just fit the palm; while the KRZR is all trimmed down and sweetly sits in your palms. I don't see how the clamshell form factor can get any better looks wise. To give you a fair idea of the size difference, here are the dimensions of the RAZR and the KRZR respectively 98 x 53 x 13.9 mm and 103 x 42 x 16 mm. The KRZR is just a bit longer; so, it's like a tall beauty. The phone weighs 102 grams, which is just a couple more to its predecessor.

The phone is all flashy; so much so that you will be able to see your reflection in its face. At the same time, this mirror of a body also catches finger prints like metal attracted to a magnet. There is also an external 65K color display, which is placed right in the center of the face with a hidden camera at the top and towards the end is the Motorola logo done in nice brushed finish.
The phone is rounded of with a ring of grayish silver all along the sides. The left side has three buttons out of which one is programmable and the other two are the volume controllers; these buttons have different uses in respect to what operation is being performed. The right side of the phone has just one button, which is a stand alone for voice commands; on the right side is also the standard mini-USB port, which also doubles as a charging port. The back of the phone is a mixture of two paint jobs.
The battery cover has one and the rest of the back i.e. the speaker portion has another paint finish. The battery cover has a velvet touch and while the other has an oil pastel finish.
The battery cover portion has a nice metal Motorola logo. The finish of the phone on the back gives a perfect grip and doesn t let the phone slip out of your hands.

That was just the outer of the phone. The phone, on the inside, continues the beauty trend. The screen, which a tad smaller compared to the RAZR, is a 256K color with a resolution of 176 x 220. Its display is sharp and has a good contrast.
Below the screen is the keypad; it is still as flat as it is for the RAZR and the SLVR L7, but this time with a more sensible order. The keys are all in line and don t have any up and down design. The same 5-way D-pad and the keys separated by plastic lining, which lights up when the keypad is active. Say whatever you want, but it is a stunner even if it does collect fingerprints or even if it s too thin compared to the RAZR.
