A battle for graphical supremacy in the mid-range segment is always an interesting one. The never-ending battle between ATI and Nvidia has taken a new turn with ATI's launch of the X1650 Pro in the lower mid-range segment. Touted as the competitor to Nvidia's 7600GS, ATI claims it's a better option that gives better performance.
Specifications

The Card

Like the X1600 Pro, the X1650 Pro is also built as a single slot graphics card with dual DVI outputs and an S-video port. A standard reference HSF (without a back plate) occupies most of the space on the face of the card. Pipeline configuration is another thing that the X1650 Pro has in common with the X1600 Pro. It sports 12 pixel and 4 vertex shaders. It uses the RV535 chipset that supports 128-bit GDDR3 modules. There is no external power socket; so, you don't have to worry about extra power being consumed by the GPU.

Officially, the core is rated at 450 MHz while the memory is rated to run at 1.3 GHz.
Apart from being Vista-ready, the X1650 Pro supports Microsoft DirectX 9.0c and Shader Model 3.0, Avivo Video, and Display Platform. The card can be used as a single or in Crossfire configuration. Hydravision 3 technology allows the X1650 Pro to support three VDUs.
