The battery below has an LED indication for the remaining power. This way, one can roughly estimate the time left before the charging is required. The power charger is one of the coolest and most innovative features of this laptop. Firstly, the connector is magnetic-based. There's an LED indicator on the connector itself. If it is orange, it is an indication that the laptop is being charged; if it is green, then the laptop has enough/full charge. The power adaptor can connect to the power socket directly or it even has an option of using an extended cable. The adaptor houses two foldable clips, which can be used to wind the cable and provide an efficient way for managing the same.

It is equipped with a 13.3-inch widescreen display measuring just 1-inch thick, 12.7-inch wide, and 8.9inch deep. There's a small camera built-in on the top of the screen. The keypad layout is fairly new, with spacing provided between the keys. There are total of 79 keys, including function key; which allows multiple functions for a single key. The 'Eject Disc' button is also present over here. The track-pad is fairly wide compared to most track-pads, and also allows for two fingers scrolling and tapping.

The Apple MacBook has the following dimensions:
Height: 1.08 inches (2.75 cm)
Width: 12.78 inches (32.5 cm)
Depth: 8.92 inches (22.7 cm)

It weighs 2.36 kg, which is on a bit heavier side. The widescreen display has a native support for resolution of 1280 * 800. However, using the Mini-DVI port for connecting external display, it can support a maximum of 1920 * 1200.

For all u people who have problems with heating up get urself the smcfancontrol and set it to a speed of arnd 4500rpm .. the temperature of the macbook will drop from 65degrees to around 48.. its pretty cool .. and for the people who think macbook is expensive GROW UP !!

Rahul, please search google before posting. Intel made G4, G5!!!! They were IBM chips based on Power PC architecture. I hope you know the difference between PowerPC and x86.

The latest version of Apple's Boot Camp provides the key missing functionality you mentioned, such as using a "two-finger trackpad click" (standard in Mac OS X) as a right click when booted in XP. I believe print screen, functionality of the built-in iSight camera, and a bunch of other issues have been addressed too. Here in the US at least, the price/value equation compared to the competition is no longer really an issue, unless you intend to run XP, in which case there is the added cost of buying a license from Microsoft. If one specs a nearly identical machine from another high profile manufacturer, the cost will be competitive. Perhaps the situation is different in your part of the world, but you might have spec'd a machine at Dell or Sony with the same hardware AND SOFTWARE capabilities to quantify the price difference, rather than just claiming the old line that macs are expensive. "RND"? You've got to be kidding...

Lost my faith in this site after readin this... "apple makin g4 and g5 " WTF!!! I have used this mac book for abt 6 months myself and can say it doesn't heat THAT much...tho the sound of the inbuilt speakers is really really low...apart from that its a pretty good performer and given that its a product from Apple it IS CHEAP.

Another mistake that I'd like to point out is your comment on Apple's 'responding' to popularity of ppl running XP on Mac. Dude! If I remember, it was only a few days back, when a couple of guys won the $10,000 booty for running XP on Mac. At the very least, confirm facts before posting.

I fail to see how it was a 'proprietary' chip. Seriously, go out an read, and then review stuff. Porting OS X to x86? LOL. Obviously, you've never heard of NEXTSTEP or anything related to the development of OS X, have you? NEXTSTEP was designed to be a platform independed OS. It was inherited and developed as OS X, and Apple had an x86 version of OS X right from 10.0 days. I'm sorry if I'm rude, but this is the most un-informed review that I've ever read. Techtree, go out and hire better writers. You'd find 'em by the dozens. Stand outside Andheri station with a placard: Tech Writer Needed.
