Nokia has announced its maiden personal navigation device, the Nokia 330 Auto Navigation, which includes maps from all over Europe.

The sophisticated Nokia 330 Auto Navigation provides seamless navigation from one European country to the next, with clear spoken and visual directions on the large 3.5-inch color touch screen.

With this device, one simply needs to enter the destination of the journey, and follow the directions from the color touch screen, optimized for intuitive ease-of-use. One can also choose other destinations easily from the quick address look-ups prompted by the device.

Announcing the device, Razvan Olosu, vice president - multimedia enhancements, Nokia, said, "Consumers are increasingly eager to use personal navigation devices while driving, and we are delighted to introduce the Nokia 330 Auto Navigation device to meet this demand. The device complements the recently announced GPS and navigation solutions from Nokia."

The Nokia 330 Auto Navigation comes with a 2GB memory card, with pre-installed Europe-wide map data and detailed travel information that are provided by Navteq and the Route 66 Navigate 7 application. The device features a built-in GPS receiver to get the best possible satellite coverage throughout the journey.

Besides, visual instructions can be viewed on 2D or 3D maps, and the device can display day or night view too. It includes advanced entertainment features so that one can enjoy the music player, the photo viewer, and the video player.

The Nokia 330 Auto Navigation is expected to be available in select channels in Europe during the fourth quarter 2006 at an estimated retail price (ERP) of approximately EUR 360 (Rs 21,240), exclusive of taxes.
