At the ongoing "DigitalLife," a yearly showcase for the latest in consumer technology, gaming, and entertainment, Dell introduced a posse of products, including wireless enabled photo printers, LCD TVs, and a wide flat-panel monitor.
The company also announced enhancements to its XPS gaming notebook system and its MediaDirect quick access technology.
Prominent among the products launched are:
the Photo AIO 966 and the Photo 926 Inkjet printers that feature fax, scan, copy, and print functions, and are able to work either wirelessly, or while connected to a computer;
the W3707C and the W3207C high-definition LCD televisions; and
the 1800MP projector and E207WFP (wide flat-panel) monitor combo meant for gaming or seeing Blu-ray movies/high-definition video.
The enhancements announced to Dell's XPS gaming notebook system include: nVidia GeForce Go 7950 GTX notebook GPU; ability to tune Intel Core 2 Duo processor performance; and proprietary XPS LightFX technology that helps users sync system lights with supported music/games.
To its MediaDirect technology, the company introduced "instant-office" capabilities. In effect, on Dell's XPS range as also on some of its Inspiron notebooks, users will now be able to view presentations, calendars, and contacts, plus view photos and videos without having to start Windows.
